The YOUTH and HIP-HOP

Hip Hop and Rap ( rhythm and poetry) music is a genre of music that typically consists of a rhythmic style of speaking, known as Rapping, and is backed by beats which are performed by turntable Dj’s . Hip hop and rap music are similar and is part of the hip hop culture. This culture can be said to have began in which began in New York in the 1970s. This music genre is related to elements of break dancing and graffitti art. There are many artists who perform music relating to this genre and include artists such as: Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and 2 Pac among many more. These artists express themselves in a poetic style and relate their music to everyday aspects of life that they have experienced. Rap music is often criticized by many people nowadays who say that rap music is corrupting the minds of the youth with the messages that they convey in their lyrics. Most of these artists mentioned above rap about gang violence, drugs, abuse and rebellious behavior and people are concerned that this is influencing the youth of today to part take in those activities. The youth make up the majority of the fans for these artists and many of them look up to them as role models. It should be understood that the music provided by these artists is of entertainment nature only. What people choose to do with their lives come out of their own free will. if parents are so concerned about their children listening to music of such nature they should take action to prevent it rather than blame the artists who are trying to make a living of the talent that they have.

Artists are often critisized for their music offerings but people do not realize that they are simply expressing themselves through their songs and it would be unfair to pin any blame on them for any mishaps regarding their influence on others-after all, freedom of expression is a right that every person holds and how one applies it to their own life becomes a completely personal issue and artists should not be held accountable.

A sensible post
